ROW80 - Round 2 - Wrap-up

Hi everyone!

This Round has had lots of ups and downs and I'm sure that's true for all of us, what with the lockdown and everything COVID-19-related.

Overall, it was still a good Round on my end and the sanitary crisis has given perspective and helped me accept being behind while focusing on the actual progress made.

As usual, I'll give myself a PASS or a FAIL for the Round.

Now for each goal:

WRITING

HC (fantasy saga): Decide when to revise.
Since I'm in a writing mood rather than a revising one, and I noticed it seemed to be a regumar tendency for the summer, I decided to let the first draft simmer until Round 4. PASS

Short story "Hour of the Wolf": Compelte and submit.
Submissions are open until June, 30 and I only need to make final changes and format the Word document according to the publisher's requirements, it's all set. PASS

Sci-Fi/Erotica series Miss Chief in Wonderland: Plan writing.
I'll start writing at the beginning of next month/Round. PASS

WORK

Quality Certification: Follow the plan.
I'm on schedule and the lockdown bought me an extra year so I'm pretty confident now. PASS

Online Courses: Keep making content.
This is the goal that had to be put on hold during the confinement because it's impossible to record videos with the girls around. I did get around that by making tests insteadPASS

Story Time: Signpost Wizard & Cat
It was hard to get started for some reason but now I'm making regular weekly progress. PASS

PUBLISHING

Curiouser & Curiouser (debut novel): Publish & Market.
No problems here, the excitement provided ample motivation and I even got my first review yesterday night! :D PASS

Red Hot Spring: Beta-reading phase.
I'm a little behind schedule but I did get 50% of the feedback I expected. Now I need to contact my wonderful critique partner to see what they think! PASS

We Missed Each Other: Make checklist.
In the nick of time since I did it today as I realized I had completely forgotten that goal... PASS

PERSONAL

House renovation: Budget, prepare insulation & tile the master bathroom.
Luck was not on our side as Hubby had severe back problems (and still does—if the current treatment doesn't work by next Tuesday, he may be facing surgery), but the tiles are there. We still need to do the seal but we'll count that as a win. We're behind on budgetting and if it was a goal of itself, it would get a FAIL, but as far as the house goes, denitely a PASS!

Housework: Start a new routine and stick to it.
We sometimes do things a bit late but they're done eventually and the routine is settlingPASS

Being active: start yoga again, walk, be active around the house.
No yoga but the rest was donePASS

Self-improve: Writing the Queer Voice course; Teaching Dyslexics course; administrative courses.
I completed all the intended courses and started the new one on Tuesday. PASS

Mental health: Read about emotional intensity.
I thought I'd read the whole book but it became a shared reading with Hubby and we discuss it, so it's taking a bit longer, which I think is for the best. PASS

Blog/site: regain control of my dashboard.
The one thing I couldn't do, though not for lack of trying! It's out of my control (which I hate, of course) but some progress were made. The minute I get control, I'll run a complete backup just in case, then start moving the site to a new host. FAIL

Beta-reading: Start kids' stories.
It's an easy read and it's also a good opportunity as a writer. I think reflecting on other writers' work helps us reflect on ours. Anyway, I'm ahead of schedule and planning to move on to the next book before Round 3 starts. PASS

So that's only one FAIL, due to external reasons. A really good Round after all. See you around for Round 3!
